The newest committee of the Village government has as its mission statement:

The Lawrence Economic Development Committee (LEDC) exists to recommend a plan to the Common Council of the Village of Lawrence for immediate and future actions to implement economic development strategies as stated in the Master Plan.  Where appropriate, the LEDC will coordinate activities with Lawrence Township especially as they relate to economic development at the immediate boundaries between the Village and Township.

 Projects include:

• Community business survey
• Review of general and zoning ordinance for amendment as needed to promote a user friendly environment
• Business resources including “Guidelines for doing business in Lawrence” and development and maintenance of funding and resource databases for businesses
• Develop and implement marketing plan for the Village owned parcels in the Lawrence Crandall Business Center (LCBC)
• Marketing materials to support local development
